National Electric Code (NEC)
Course Introduction:
Today the universal importance of the National Electric Code has been established by many agencies and by all kinds of private companies and organization. In addition, national, state and local licensing or certification will require a firm and confident knowledge of the NEC.
To meet the greet need for information on the NEC this course has been carried out to put good notation about NEC. The course follows the order of articles as presented in
the NEC text book. The main topics that any electric engineering or any technicians need will found in this course starting from article 80 till article 770 which covers the most common parts of electric equipments.
Course Objectives:
At the end of this course participants will learn:
• Requirements of electric installation according 2005 NEC, 2008 NEC
• Relation of NEC with the other international standards
• NEC for grounding conductors, branch circuits and feeders
• NEC for surge arrestors, transient voltage surge and over current protection
• NEC for conductors, cables and general wiring
• NEC for switches, switchboards and panel boards
• NEC for motors, generators and transformers
• NEC for resistors, capacitors and reactors
• NEC for storage battery, solar photovoltaic system and emergency systems
• NEC for fire alarm and optical fiber cables
